We got featured on Cosmo.ph!
And just like that, I became part of an article on women who shifted careers to pursue their passion, as told by Cosmo.ph :). I never saw this coming, but I’m grateful for the chance to be an inspiration to other girls as well. You’ll never know when your own journey can spark joy, somewhere down the road. Written by Ms. Cheekie Albay * * * Name: Lai de Guzman Age: 32 Previous Occupation: Marketing professional for an IT company Current Occupation: Photographer and entrepreneur (www.laideguzman.com; www.facebook.com/timetravelersph) How long have you wanted to be a photographer? Smart Parenting Features : Chynna Ortaleza-Cipriano’s Birthing Story
We got to meet super cool mommy, Chynna Ortaleza-Cipriano during our shoot about her birthing story with Smart Parenting Online back in October 2016. Listening to her and watching her while she shared her experiences with the team, was so entertaining. She’s such an awesome story teller, that even though we were in a show room, her way of describing the entire experience made us feel that we were also with her there in the hospital. It was crazy, cool and fun at the same time. Very much like how she is as a person. As she continued to share with us her story, we noticed how she also highlights…

Seconds with Val | Celebrating New Chances
The house isn’t empty. 🙂 My friend Val, escaped the fire that broke into their home a few months back. Had she not, I would have been shooting walls. Only walls filled with faint memories of her, and me being left clueless about what she was last thinking, or feeling, or doing. When I met her, a few days after the incident, she said, “Buhay Ako!”. And I think I replied something like … You don’t know how happy I am to hear that. And no matter how cinematic it might have looked and sounded, we did hug like we have never hugged before. ( Insert tears here). 😛 I…

Nathan’s 7th Birthday Bash | Kidzoona, Shangri-La Mall
It’s my first time at Kidzoona, and I got to play with Nathan and his friends 🙂 Chasing our celebrant Nathan really seemed like a work out! It made me wish I went on physical training, days before his birthday celebration. Haha! Kids their age really love playing games and doing physical activities. They are not the type who stay in one place and linger for a long time. Well, when you’re in a venue like Kidzoona, you’ll always catch yourself wanting to try out every thing you see. Apart from play time, Nathan also had a Pokemon Themed birthday cake and dessert buffet, which his friends got to enjoy. Sweets…

The Flash : Luis Turns One | Mahogany Place 3 Clubhouse
And just like that, Luis has turned one! For his first birthday party, he greets us with warm and wide smiles as “The Flash”. A few months back, we got to post about his Christening party which was held at Santuario de San Antonio with a reception that followed at Mahogany Place 3 Clubhouse. It’s always a treat to see how these venues get to be transformed for different occasions and parties. We returned to the same venue, with the same fun crowd of family and friends for his first birthday party. I just love how Debbie and Enrik always ensure that their events are memorable not only for Luis, but also…

Smart Parenting Feature: Delamar and Tyler
Growing up, I remember my mornings being colored by Chico and Delamar’s laughter as we listened to The Morning Rush daily at Monster Radio RX93.1. On the way to our shoot, I couldn’t keep myself from smiling from ear to ear when we were told that we’d be off photographing Delamar and her family. I’m pretty sure, my sister who was with me at the shoot also felt the same way. hahaha! Together with Smart Parenting Online’s Lei Sison and Rachel Perez, we got a chance to get to know Delamar, Tyler and their super cute kids — Cooper and Parker through their interview and portrait session. As Delamar shared her…

Sadie’s Madeline Birthday Bash | Ayala Hillside
The theme song of the kids TV Show Madeline immediately came to mind as soon as I saw Mom Sher, and Sadie enter the room. They were so cute in their matching Madeline outfits and Sadie even had a hat as well, just like how Madeline really is. While writing this blog post, I couldn’t help it! I just had to go onto Youtube to listen to the opening song, again ( and maybe 1-2 episodes)… hahaha! Even though Sadie’s party was a kids party, I think of it as a really elegant little girl’s party. With flowers in place of balloons that we normally see, and touches of white,…

Family Time: Kakam, Mea and Riley | Ateneo de Manila University
There’s something very sweet and tender about going back to your roots. For Kakam who has studied in Ateneo, returning to the grounds that help shape how he is as husband to Mea and a dad to their son Riley, is a nostalgic feat. It is also in this campus where dormers Mea and Kakam first met and eventually became a couple. One sunny afternoon, we found ourselves, looking back at our own journey as classmates, and also looking forward to how this little guy Riley sees his own adventure. Running around, tripping, standing up and learning how to walk again, are just some life lessons which are also applicable…

Coming Home to Inay | Portraits at Manila Orchidarium
I’ve been photographing lots of young families lately, and have been assisting them on preserving their moments through print. While checking out my hard drive, I stumbled upon an old photoshoot that I felt was still relevant to share. Shooting weddings, portraits, and birthday parties, has really helped to grow my heart for families ( clients, and even my own as well). Can you Imagine how big your family may be around 25-30 years from today? Have you ever though that you may have actually given birth to the best of your friends? In truth, this really is, a Post Mother’s Day blog entry dedicated to moms of all seasons…
